Sacred Heart Savers
Our School Bank, Sacred Heart Savers, operates every Wednesday morning and is available to children at morning break-time and managed by our school office team.
This project is aimed at developing an awareness of personal finances, encouraging a positive approach to saving and achieving economic wellbeing. We feel that our children will greatly benefit from watching their money grow as they save for a particular reason or purpose. It is suggested that Christmas, Summer holidays, birthdays etc. are the main times when children will want to draw upon their savings.
Through school and parents working together to encourage children to save regular amounts, a healthy attitude towards money management will develop at an early age. This important life skill will be celebrated at each visit to our School Bank.
The aim of the project is to encourage saving little amounts often so that children can watch their money grow. This could be, for example, 50 pence pocket money each week that mounts up over time. All children will be issued with a savings card, which must be brought into school to access the Bank. This will be issued during the initial registration process for each child. This card MUST be brought in to school whenever a deposit/withdrawal is to be made for any child.
We request that sensible amounts only are brought into school for banking purposes. Please send your child into school with their payment card and cash only in a sealed envelope or secure wallet etc. School cannot accept any liability for any cash misplaced in or out of school. We will, of course, encourage all children to show extreme care with their banking arrangements.
If any changes to arrangements are necessary, we will inform parents accordingly.
If you have any queries relating to the school bank, please contact the Main Office.
