Inspired by the life and example of Jesus Christ, Caritas Social Action Network (CSAN) was established by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales to develop the Church's social action in these parts of the United Kingdom. We share in the mission of the Catholic Church.

Catholic social teaching (CST) is rooted in Scripture, formed by the wisdom of Church leaders, and influenced by grassroots movements. It is our moral compass, guiding us on how to live out our faith in the world.

Community Sponsorship of Refugees - CSAN

Thank you to all who contributed to the CAFOD group’s Advent appeal. Our fundraising will be used by CAFOD to purchase over 1,000 vaccines that could save a child’s life in the developing world.

Our school and parish support the work of Cornerstone and hold regular ongoing collections of food, clothing and household goods, as well as participating in the Big Sleep Out and our own Big Sleep In at school to support the Safe Haven Night Shelter project.

We are currently embarking upon a new project of community sponsorship of refugees, supporting Pope Francis’ call for parishes to be a place of sanctuary:
