Our Reception year follow the Early Years Framework. Current documents are linked from http://www.foundationyears.org.uk/eyfs-statutory-framework/

We follow the National curriculum in KS1 & KS2, through the themes and areas outlined in our Curriculum Map document.

The English National Curriculum Programme of Study, linked in the menu, gives the key areas studied in each year group.
We use the Letters & Sounds phonics programme.
We have a variety of reading scheme resources, including those from Phonics Bug & Bug Club, and also some materials are used from Rigby Star & Oxford Reading Tree.

Our Religious Education is based upon the R.E. Curriculum Directory, and uses a range of approved materials including the Diocese of Salford approved schemes, ‘Come & See’, and ‘The Way, The Truth & The Life’.
Come & See: http://www.comeandseere.co.uk/

Education in Personal Relationships: We use two core schemes, both in accordance with the Church’s teaching:
Reception – Y4 use ‘A journey in Love’ – Brentwood Diocese:

Y5 & Y6 use ‘All that I am’ – Archdiocese of Birmingham: http://all-that-i-am.co.uk/

Catholic social teaching is centred around the use of ‘Caritas in Action’: http://www.caritassalford.org.uk/caritas-in-action

In October 2017, we considered the question – Guy Fawkes: Terrorist?

Who is the man who we remember the actions of every 5th November?

What is treason and plot? Was Guy Fawkes to blame? Was he a terrorist?

What can we learn from this historical event that influences our choices today?

Are there any modern day Guy Fawkes?
